Multimessenger astronomy
A way of observing the universe by cross-referencing several "messengers" from the same event: light, gravitational waves, neutrinos and cosmic rays. Each messenger travels differently and tells part of the story. Example: in 2017, a neutrino detected by IceCube pointed to the same source as a gamma-ray flare seen by Fermi, a historic first.
